MR. SAMUEL KWESI TAKYI
Samuel is a certified Mining Manager with over 20 years’ industry experience. This includes 15 years in senior management positions. His proficiency spans across mine management, operations, strategic mine planning, business development and conflict resolution.
Before joining Bibiani Mine as Operations Manager – Core Process, Samuel held several senior leadership roles in Ghana, Burkina Faso and Mali. He was consulting General Manager at Thonket Mining Services Ltd., Ghana and Burkina Faso, General Manager at SMK Gold Operation in Mali, Mining Director at the Endeavour Mining, Hounde Gold Operation, Burkina Faso, Mining Director at Nordgold Somita Gold Mine, Burkina Faso and Mining Manager at Abosso Goldfields Ltd, Damang Mine in Ghana and Endeavour Mining, Youga Gold Operation in Burkina Faso.
Samuel played a crucial role at Abosso Goldfields Ltd., leading to the mine’s turnaround in 2014. He was principal leader Of the strategic team that won the “Most Improved Mine” and “Best Mine” awards for 2015 04 for Abosso Goldfields Ltd, which surpassed all Goldfields International Mining Companies.
Samuel holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Degree in Mining Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Mines, Tarkwa and the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) respectively. He also holds a Mine Manager Certificate of Competency from the Mineral Commission of Ghana, is a Governing Council member of the West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (WAIMM) and a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AuslMM).
