HON. PROF. KINGSLEY NYARKO

Hon. Prof. Kingsley Nyarko is a trained psychologist with specialties in educational, industrial/organizational and social psychology. He obtained his first degree in Bachelor of Education in Psychology at the University of Cape Coast in 2000, and his Master of Arts in Psychology of Excellence and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology at the University of Munich in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
Prof. Nyarko, after his studies, worked at VoiceCash GmbH—a financial solution organization in Munich, Germany for two years, before taking a teaching appointment at the Department of Psychology of the University of Ghana from 2010 to 2018. At the same time, he represented VoiceCash as their African representative for about 2 years.

He was the Head of Department for Teacher Education Department between 2015 and 2018. He also served on several committees and boards at the university, mentored students and taught several courses and supervised both undergraduate and graduate theses as well as doctoral theses.

Hon. Prof. Nyarko was a visiting scholar in some of the universities in the country such as Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Akenten Appiah Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development. He is also an external examiner of the University of Cape Coast.

Between 2017 and 2018, Hon. Prof. Nyarko was the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, a Centre right political ideological institute involved in policy, advocacy, media and research.

In 2018, he was appointed by the President of Ghana as the Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board—a regulator of tertiary education institutions in the country until he was elected to represent the good people of Kwadaso in the Parliament of Ghana in December 2020.

He was also a board member of the National Service Scheme, National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations, and the Cancers Board between 2018 and 2020.
Hon. Prof. Nyarko serves on three committees in Parliament. He serves on the Education, Special Budget and Poverty Reduction Strategy committees. He is the deputy ranking member of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Committee.
