Nuhu Salifu is a transformative business executive with over 30 years in the mining and infrastructure industry, including a decade in strategic HR leadership. As Vice President for Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology in West Africa, Board Chair of Sandvik Mali, Burkina Faso, and Cote D’Ivoire, and Managing Director of Sandvik Ghana, Nuhu leads 373 employees across 15 countries, driving significant growth through customer-centric strategies. From 2007–2013, his HR leadership at Sandvik West Africa implemented performance management, talent acquisition, and employee engagement systems across 9 sites and 110 employees, restructuring the organization and boosting revenue by 80%. Key achievements include developing a diverse talent pool from 7 nationalities and increasing gender diversity from 1.8% to 15% (2014–2024).
A member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Ghana, Nuhu holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana, Bachelor of Management Studies from University of Cape Coast and executive education from IMD in Switzerland and Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden. His thought leadership includes moderating “Future-Proof Mining: Developing & Retaining a Diverse Talent Pipeline in the Era of Automation, Digitalisation, Sustainability and Localisation” at WAMPEX 2025, speaking at Africa Mining Indaba 2025, and at WAMPEX/WAMPOC 2021 on “Opportunities within West Africa’s Mining Sector,” plus contributing LinkedIn publications on people, mining technology, and business.
